November 19, 2017 | Catskill Conversations: Remembrance Day with historian Rosemary Nichols

We’re excited to invite you to take part in our newest event at Ashokan: Catskill Conversations.This new Ashokan Center series will feature interactive talks by noted experts from a variety of fields including natural science, the environment, music, art, history, food, sustainability and more. Each “Conversation” will close with snacks, beverages and a chance to chat with the presenters and attendees.

On this anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s “Gettysburg Address,” historian and Ashokan Foundation co-founder Rosemary Nichols will talk about Lincoln as well as our local volunteer regiment, the Ulster Guard, and their role in the Battle of Gettysburg. Live period music will be performed by Jay Ungar & Molly Mason, widely know for the score to Ken Burns PBS series The Civil War.
