October 1, 2017 | Catskill Conversations: Foraging & Feasting with Dina Falconi and Wendy Hollender

Sunday, October 1, 2017 | 2pm–5pm

We’re excited to invite you to take part in our newest event at Ashokan: Catskill Conversations. This new Ashokan Center series will feature interactive talks by noted experts from a variety of fields including natural science, the environment, music, art, history, food, sustainability and more. Each “Conversation” will close with snacks, beverages and a chance to chat with the presenters and attendees.

Our first in the series is an afternoon with the creators of Foraging & Feasting, the acclaimed book on wild edibles. We’ll begin with a wild edibles walk with herbalist and forager Dina Falconi, then you’ll return indoors where we’ll learn to draw the plants we’ve gathered with botanical artist Wendy Hollender. Part three of the afternoon will take place in our kitchen-classroom, where wild plants will be transformed into food, medicine, and various other preparations!

There’ll be plenty of time for Q&A and to chat with Dina, Wendy, and the other attendees. All art materials are provided and no prior experience is needed. Space is limited so advanced registration is required.

Tickets—SOLD OUT
