bright, reliable, energetic, flexible, customer service and detail-oriented Finance Associate.
This is a full-time salaried position that sometimes involves working late or over the weekend. The
Finance Associate will be responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable. You will assist
the Finance Director with budgeting & reporting. This position has the potential for a hybrid schedule
and for growth. This is a unique opportunity to work at a community-based organization that
celebrates nature, music, the arts & history.
Located in Olivebridge, NY on 385 acres of fields, forests, trails, and streams, the Ashokan Center is
a magical place that has provided high quality, innovative environmental education programs for K-12
school students and teachers for over 50 years. We also host retreats, weddings, public events,
concerts, lectures, and the world renowned Ashokan Music & Dance Camps.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage and maintain our accrual accounting system
- Manage and track accounts payable and receivable
- Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements
- Maintain internal financial controls and safeguards
- Work with Finance Director to reconcile donations/grants and provide accurate and timely reporting
- Assist the Finance Director with the annual audit
- Assist the Finance Director with the annual budget process
- Work with the Finance Director to ensure that the contract billing and collection schedules are adhered to and that financial data and cash flow support operational requirements.
- Manage and make recommendations for health benefits, 401k, etc.
- Maintain records of taxable sales and prepare quarterly sales tax reports
- Manage employee vacation, holiday, and sick time.
- Other tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Deep understanding of accrual and cost accounting
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, FASB, non-profit accounting methods, procedures and practices
- Proficiency in the use of QuickBooks and MS Excel
- Possesses the skills and intuitive knowledge to handle diverse technology platforms including but not limited to Stripe, Square, Paypal, Venmo, Neon
- Ability to function as part of a team with a diverse group of people
- 5 years minimum experience preferred
- Knowledge of Sage Intacct and/or Financial Edge helpful but not necessary
- You must have a valid drivers’ license and pass a criminal background check. References are required.
