LIVE BROADCAST:
BEYOND THE 7TH FIRE WITH SACHEM HAWKSTORM

Sunday

October 6, 2020

Anishinaabe prophecy says the scorched path we are on may be the path of least resistance, but will lead to our ultimate demise. Join HawkStorm, Sachem of the Schaghticoke First Nations, for a discussion (broadcast live on Radio Kingston) and a Q&A session.

Beyond the 7th Fire comes from the Anishinaabe prophecy that says, we’re in the time of the seventh fire – the scorched path we are on is the path of least resistance but leads to our ultimate demise. If we travel down the green path it will lead into the 8th fire of unity and love.

Join us at noon sharp for Beyond the 7th Fire with Sachem HawkStorm which will be broadcast live on Radio Kingston on his weekly, hour-long radio show. Click here to hear archived episodes. After the broadcast ends the live experience will continue with a Q&A.

Hawkstorm is a hereditary Sachem, a direct descendant of Massasoit, Weetamoo, Tuspaquin, Sassacus, Mioneamie, Katonah, Wamsutta, Warrups, and Mauwee. Like so many of his people, Sachem HawkStorm was taken from his parents and raised in a family unfamiliar with his heritage. Emancipated at 15, his life’s journey has been one of reclamation, re-indigenization, and reconnection to the land. Beyond the 7th Fire Radio is a way to bring light to the conversations and stories not so different from his own stories of separation. His compelling talks are also informed by his work at the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues and the International Indian Treaty Council, as well as the relationships he has built in his tribe, the Schaghticoke, close to home and around the world.

Schaghticoke First Nations is one of three nations of the Schaghticoke Tribe, with 370 members, and also a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. The word “Schaghticoke” means “the Mingling of Waters,” and signifies the merging Algonquin Nations of the Eastern Woodlands in 1676.
