In 2018, 390 solar panels were installed to meet 100% of our facility’s electrical needs—plus a fun educational component for our visiting schools. Thank you to Solar Alchemy, Inc. for helping us start this exciting new chapter of sustainability at the Ashokan Center.

Our composting initiative reduces food waste significantly, and teaches mindfulness and respect for our planet and those who grow and cook our food.
We value the preservation of historic crafts and traditions while supporting lifelong experiential learning. Ashokan is a safe place to try new things, and learn old things, too!
