The Ashokan Center, a 501c (3) not for profit, is looking for a bright, reliable, energetic, flexible, customer service and detail-oriented Development Associate to assist with administrative duties associated with Ashokan’s growing fundraising program. This is a unique opportunity to work at a community-based organization that celebrates nature, music, the arts & history.
This is a full-time salaried position that sometimes involves working evening hours or over weekend at events. The Development Associate will be a key contributor to the Center’s fundraising program which raises more than $1.2 million annually. This position supports annual fund giving campaigns, peer-to-peer fundraising, prospect research, data entry, grant management tasks, events support, and donor communications. This position has the potential for a hybrid schedule and for growth. The Development Associate reports to the Development Director.
SALARY
- $40,000-$45,000

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research individual and institutional prospects on ongoing basis and update pipelines
- Oversee entry of all third-party donations into Neon CRM database
- Manage ongoing calendar of donor appointments with leadership & major donors
- Support admin set-up of peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns
- Ensure all donor-related data is accurate and up-to-date
- Draft & update automated donor communications
- Monitor grant cycles & deadlines to ensure timely submissions
- Coordinate and track the implementation of corporate sponsorship benefits
- Other administrative duties as assigned by the Development Director
QUALIFICATIONS
- Preferred 1-3 years’ experience in a non-profit administrative setting
- Fluency in MS Office and Google applications
- Excellent verbal communication skills & outstanding writing ability
- Attention to detail & ability to work independently in a reliable, consistent manner
- Ability to prioritize tasks and thrive in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to conduct oneself in a professional, discreet manner
- Positive attitude & ability to focus on presenting solutions
- Experience with Neon CRM or other donor database experience a plus
- Preferred BA or Associate’s degree in relevant field
