Grammy winning Cajun music bandleader of 30 years, accordion master Steve Riley, will be joined by his sons for this special New Years’ Eve set. “I’m very fortunate to have grown up in this part of the world and to have made a living playing the music I love”

Jeffery Broussard has devoted his heart and soul to preserving Zydeco’s Creole past and charting its future. On New Year’s he and friends will you hot Creole Zydeco music direct to you from Opelousas, Louisiana – the Zydeco capital of the world!

It wouldn’t be New Year’s at Ashokan without the uniquely versatile folk, roots, and swing grooves of Jay Ungar & Molly Mason and Swingology. You’re sure to hear your favorite waltzes, Lindy-hop numbers, and of course Auld Lang Syne and Midnight Hour Blues at that celebratory moment.

The Ashokan Center builds community through shared experiences in nature, history, music and art. For 40 years we have hosted traditional Music & Dance Camps at our 385 nature preserve. This year we have learned how to host them online!

“Joyous and talented teachers. Feeling not only warmly welcomed, but also individually included interactively” – Amy

“The teachers were so reachable and personable. I really enjoyed the whole camp and it was so well run. I hope they will continue to have virtual camps in the future since we live so far away.” – Timothy

“Wonderfull and inspiring teachers. I appreciate that every single teacher I had came fully prepared and then some. Especially given the challenges of technology, this was extraordinary. I know that a big reason that things worked so smoothly was due to the facilitators really having the acts together. Huge kudos to the behind -the- scenes worker bees. Thank you Ashokan folks, you will definitely see me and mine again some day. Hugs , real ones, Yes, the kind that lasts that extra little bit” – Donna

“You all have perfected this format and created a rich and connected experience that I didn’t think possible online. Other groups should be taking lessons from you all on how to do this well.” – anonymous
