COVID-19 Protocol for General Events

General policy includes Hoots, Public Events, Weddings

Masks are optional in accordance with local and CDC guidelines. If you develop symptoms (Fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea) please do not attend an on-site event at the Ashokan Center. 

COVID-19 Protocol for Music & Dance Camps (2024)

M&D policy includes public dance/concert preceding or during camp (updated March 1, 2024)

We recommend but no longer require everyone to test for COVID-19 in the 24 hours before arrival.

Refund requests due to a positive test, COVID exposure, or COVID-related concerns will be honored (less a $50 administrative fee).

Ashokan staff provide masks and on-site rapid testing upon request.

Interim Covid-19 Policy for Residential Field Trips effective March 1, 2024.

On March 1, 2024 the CDC updated its guidance on Covid-19. We are currently reviewing these changes and will update our protocols accordingly.
In the interim:

 

Safety For All

  • The Ashokan Center is operating in accordance with current NY State and CDC guidelines. Your school agrees to adhere to current NY State and CDC guidelines.

Testing 

  • We recommend but no longer require school groups to test for COVID-19 prior to their arrival.
    Any student presenting with a fever, >38.7C (>100.0 F) and with flu like symptoms while at Ashokan will be quarantined and a call will be made to the parents or caregiver to make arrangements for pick up.
    With the parent or caregiver’s expressed request and permission only, an antigen rapid test can be provided to rule out Covid-19.

Masks

  • Mask-wearing requirements are subject to local and state level regulations.  So long as it is not mandated and the Ashokan Center deems it safe, each school may request their preference for masking.

Cleanliness

  • At the Ashokan Center, we pride ourselves on vigorous cleaning and sanitation. Housekeeping sanitizes frequently touched surfaces such as door handles, light switches, water fountains, railings, public restrooms, dining hall tables and benches throughout the day.

Lodging protocols

  • No Covid-19 precautions are currently in place. 

Dining Hall

  • No Covid-19 precautions are currently in place. 

Refund Policy 

  • If your visit is cancelled for any of the reasons above, you will receive a full refund of all fees paid, or you can choose to reschedule and apply your fees to a new date that is mutually acceptable. If your visit is cut short for any of the above reasons you will receive a prorated refund based on your deposit and fees at the time of your departure or you can choose to reschedule and apply your fees to a new date that is mutually acceptable.

SPECIAL COVID-19 ADDENDUM

  • All parties acknowledge and accept that the use of the facility is expressly conditioned upon compliance with any New York State, Department of Health, and local guidelines relating to use under the pandemic guidelines for COVID-19. Ashokan will work with the school to make accommodations necessary to comply with any such guidelines. Ashokan expects full cooperation in compliance with any such guidelines. Ashokan expressly reserves the right to cancel any previously approved visit as a result of any such state or local guidelines as they may evolve from the date of the Agreement to the date of the visit.

Safety For All

Whenever possible, activities will be scheduled in outdoor locations with outdoor and indoor dining options available (weather permitting). The Ashokan Center is operating in accordance with current NY State and CDC guidelines. Your school agrees to adhere to current NY State and CDC guidelines and will submit to a temperature check on arrival.

If a student or teacher develops symptoms Fever or chills (greater than 100 degrees), Cough, Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, Fatigue, Muscle or body aches, Headache, New loss of taste or smell, Sore throat, Congestion or runny nose, Nausea or vomiting, Diarrhea) or comes in contact with someone who is Covid positive within 10 days of the start of your visit, that individual should not attend. If a member of your school develops symptoms during a visit they will be quarantined.

Masks

Everyone is requested to wear a face covering when indoors and anytime when distancing from others cannot be maintained.
