Bees & Beekeeping Workshop

Learn about our powerful pollinating friends, the honeybees! In this outdoor nature lesson, presentation and Q&A, beekeeper and Ashokan Educator Kevin Meehan will share an overview of bees, their importance, and the challenges facing their survival. He’ll introduce us to the new colony of bees at Ashokan, and bring a single-frame observation hive so folks can get an even closer look. After a lunch break (byo picnic) we’ll have a honey tasting and discussion about varieties of honey related to the pollen collected. Plus, plenty of time for all of your bee and beekeeping questions!
