Día de las Familias es un nuevo festival de música y arte abierto al público con música, vendedores de comida, caminatas por la naturaleza, ​​actividades para niños y más – ¡todo en español! Este evento se llevará a cabo en el campus del Ashokan Center en Olivebridge, NY y contará con música en vivo de los reconocidos artistas tradicionales de Veracruz del Ariles Son Jarocho Camp, y más músicos latinos por anunciar.

Este festival es completamente GRATIS gracias al generoso apoyo de los donantes. También habrá transporte gratuito desde Kingston y comida gratuita disponible en el sitio de 12 p. m. a 4 p. m.: frijoles y arroz, pollo, churros, flan y más.

Naturaleza

Día de las Familias is a new music and arts festival with music, food vendors, nature walks, activities for children and more – todo en Español! This event will be held on the Ashokan Center campus in Olivebridge, NY and feature live music by renowned traditional Veracruz artists from the Ariles Son Jarocho Camp, and more latin musicians to be announced. 

This festival is entirely FREE thanks to generous donor support. There will also be free transportation from Kingston, and free food available on site 12pm-4pm – beans & rice, chicken, churros, flan, and more

Xiomara Laugart & Axel Tosca Prepare to be swept away by the electrifying fusion of rhythm and melody as the renowned Axel Tosca and his legendary mother, Xiomara Laugart. Recognized as one of the city's most exciting young timba musicians by New York Latin Culture Magazine, Axel's innovative blend of progressive jazz, Cuban timba, R&B, and a touch of hip-hop sets him apart as a true musical trailblazer. Joining Axel Tosca on stage is none other than the incomparable Xiomara Laugart, celebrated as the epitome of Cuban trova singing. With a career spanning over two decades and a voice that captivates hearts around the globe, Xiomara's performances are a testament to the enduring power of Cuban folk music.
Marimba Herencia Maya Traditional Mayan ensemble based in New Jersey. They play cumbia music from northern and southern Guatemala. The 8-piece group includes marimba, vocals, bass, piano, and drums. Get ready for vibrant, high-energy music that is great for listening and dancing
Dúo Andalucía  is a fine guitar duo, offering a unique blend of instrumental jazz, bossa nova, passionate flamenco, and even operatic vocals that will captivate the crowd. It's a fusion that creates a powerful and emotional journey. After their beginnings in Nicaragua, and then 5 years of separation due to sociopolitical crisis, these musicians have recently reunited here in the Hudson Valley and are grateful to perform their music for you.
Son Jarocho Showcase & Fandango 
After last year's fantastic performance by Radio Jarocho, Son Jarocho NY's Julia del Palacio has partnered with the Ashokan Center to create a full weekend workshop called Ariles Son Jarocho Camp! This year's Día de las Familias will end with a fabulous mini-showcase of the weekend's instructors - Joel Cruz Castellanos, Raquel Palacios Vega, Leopoldo NM, Sinuhé Padilla Isunza, Julia del Palacio, and Mateo Cano & Maria Puente Flores. The finale will be a group Fandango, an acoustic son jarocho jam session and celebration of the beautiful music, dance, and song traditions of Veracruz, Mexico.
