We’re thrilled to announce a project that’s been years in the making: new wayfinding signs and maps are coming to the Ashokan Center!

If you’ve ever visited our campus and needed a moment to figure out which path leads to the Dining Hall, the Longhouse, or the Waterfall Trail—you’re not alone. With more than 385 acres of trails, buildings, and gathering spaces, finding your way around Ashokan is part of the adventure… but it’s about to get a whole lot easier.

🗺️ What’s the Plan?
This upcoming project will install clear, thoughtfully designed directional signs and trail maps around campus to help guests navigate with ease. Whether you’re here for a school field trip, music & dance camp, or your cousin’s wedding, you’ll soon be able to follow the path with confidence.

📍 Why It Matters
This is more than a signage upgrade—it’s about accessibility, hospitality, and safety. Wayfinding signs will ensure that all visitors, especially those new to Ashokan, can explore our grounds comfortably and with clarity.

🌱 A Long Time Coming
This initiative has been in development for over two years, originally spearheaded by Ruth, who envisioned a better experience for first-time visitors. After several walk-throughs and planning meetings, we’re excited to begin implementation under the guidance of Joe Martignetti, who is now leading the execution phase of this project.

📅 What’s Next?
The installation of signs and maps will begin after the completion of our new office and health center building, currently wrapping up this summer. Once that project is complete, the wayfinding signs will be next in line, marking another major step forward in making Ashokan more welcoming and navigable for all.

🙏 Thank You
Thanks to the staff and supporters who’ve kept this vision alive over the years. Your input and persistence are making a real difference in the daily experiences of our guests—and we can’t wait to share these updates with you.

Stay tuned for more details and sneak peeks as the project unfolds!
